I met Chelsea and her family at the 2016 GFWC Dublin & San Ramon annual art competition. I had several students participate and place in the competition. Her mother approached me and asked if I was the studio teacher. We spoke a bit and Chelsea’s mother decided to have Chelsea take art lessons at Oam Studios Art Academy.
Chelsea began with our foundational curriculum and time flew by as the 2017 competition neared. She began to brainstorm her ideas for this year’s competition. She worked furiously on her Lion & Butterfly drawing for the GFWC Dublin San Ramon art competition. She came into the studio a little bit more than often than usual and got a lot of her artwork completed at home. She insisted on learning more graphite drawing and some airbrushing, which of course makes me proud to have an art student willing to take on serious challenges.
The great news is that Chelsea Zhou won frist place and will be going on to the state level competition of the GFWC Dublin San Ramon Art Competition. All her hard work paid off and we are so happy to have her at the studio! Chelsea is certainly one of those students that go beyond anyone’s expectations because she has a drive within her that is only satisfied once their curiosity is satiated.
Thanks Chelsea for being a great student and also Oam Studios student representative.
